Our LIFE school, FBA, were featured in the 12th April edition of the Romford Recorder with coverage of their recent event hosting 14 Chinese delegates from the Jiangsu Province.
LIFE Education Trust Director of Support, Paul Claydon, hosted the Chinese delegation, and successfully showed them around FBA, introducing them to staff and students. The purpose of their visit was to learn about good educational practices in England and how we deliver certain aspects of the curriculum at the school. The visiting teachers were especially interested in teaching methods and how we support students’ social and emotional wellbeing. During the visit they were able to speak with students and staff as well as visit the school farm to learn more about the benefits of having this facility on site. Presentations from the Student Council, The CEO of LIFE Education Trust and the Ethos Development Manager were very well received by the delegates who were impressed by the facilities and the programme we have in place to support our staff and students’ development.
“LIFE Education Trust and The Frances Bardsley Academy are extremely proud of our international links. To be able to host and provide training for a group of staff from the Jiangsu Province of China was a privilege for us. Our dedicated staff and excellent students enjoyed sharing their expertise and we look forward to similar visits in the future”
Our LIFE Education Trust school, Benhurst Primary, have been shortlisted in the TES School Awards 2019 for the ‘Innovative use of technology to influence outcomes’ award. This is a huge achievement for the school and they have done so well given their journey from the start of 2014 where classrooms had roller blinds to write on and non-interactive projectors, they have certainly come a long way! Benhurst Primary are the only Havering school to be nominated in any category and only one other school in Essex has been shortlisted. The judging will take place in the coming months with the winners announced on Friday 21st June
To be shortlisted in itself is a huge honour and we will keep our fingers crossed that Benhurst can add a TES award to the SMART school of the year award from 2018. Well done!
Students from FBA went along to the Rose Gallery in the FBA Sixth Form College at lunch time on Tuesday 2nd April to take a look at the Year 9 student stalls and hopefully buy something from the enticing products that were on offer! The Year 9 students did a fantastic job of making their stalls look attractive, and used their best marketing skills to drum up support and customers. Well done girls!
Our LIFE Education Trust school, Margaretting CofE Primary, are supporting the Government led Single Use Plastics Campaign, introduced by Damian Hinds, Educational Secretary. They are encouraging their students to use the same water bottle every day to stop unnecessary wastage, and therefore help towards protecting our environment. Other initiatives taking place in the school include their no litter campaign, encouraging students to recycle paper, even awarding a prize for recycling every week.
Great work Margaretting!
