Ford End School
Maria always loved teaching coming from a family of teachers. She accepted a place at Homerton College, Cambridge and was delighted to be on the front cover of their prospectus! She immersed herself in her many and varied teaching roles and quickly became a Deputy Headteacher. In 2006, she decided she would like to run her own school and was appointed Headteacher at Terling CE VA Primary School. During that time, she gained an Ofsted outstanding judgement in 2013 and SIAMs outstanding grading, also in 2013. Terling came top out of all small schools in the national league tables in the same year. During her time there, she completed a Masters in Education at Cambridge University, where her thesis focused on the power of the Arts in improving educational standards; something in which she still believes passionately. In 2014, Maria decided she would like to be part of a bigger organisation and successfully applied for the Headship of St. Michael’s CE VA Junior School in Galleywood. She now works as Acting Headteacher at Ford End CE VC Primary School and also works for Attain Academy Partnership in the area of school improvement.
