Rob Bristow

Rob joined the LIFE Education Board in September 2019 having been a Governor at FBA since 2013 and also sits on the Trust Standards Committee.

He is a Development Lead for a national teacher training agency and was Vice Principal in an East London school, prior to this. He is passionate about developing great teacher skills in the classroom as the biggest factor in raising pupil attainment and progress.

His responsibilities as a VP included Teaching and Learning, staff CPD and NQT development along with work scrutiny, safeguarding, behaviour management, attendance, and assessment reporting. He has also worked in a County Education Department developing 14-19 curriculum and as a School's Commissioner.

Building on his first career in Industrial Computing, he trained as a Technology Teacher and taught ICT, Engineering, EPQ, PE and PSHE. His teaching qualifications include BSc, PGCE and NPQH.

As a member of a Christian Outward Bound Centre in North Wales, he is committed to extending young people's experience of the outdoor world with all its challenges and opportunities for character building and leadership training. He has led sailing trips, outward bound activity weeks, mountain biking and a wide range of sports activities during his teaching career. He is qualified as a sailing instructor.
