Maria studied at London Metropolitan University and has a BSc in Institutional Management. Following this, Maria worked in a variety of careers and returned to university after raising her children to study Adult Nursing. She later completed a Graduate Teaching Programme at our very own Frances Bardsley Academy, a school she attended herself during her teenage years and has worked in various positions over the years including Head of Year and Deputy Head of Sixth Form, teaching a variety of subjects including Health and Social Care, Food and Design Technology. In 2018 she moved to the Bridge as Head of PSHE and after a successful Ofsted in May 2019, was promoted to Head of Personal Development and then Deputy Head. Maria is now Head of School and is passionate about nurturing positive mental wellbeing amongst her students, believing it to be the foundation on which healthy and happy young lives are built.
